Among the organic tea gardens of Miyazaki Sabo, which continues to grow without pesticides or chemical fertilizers, this organic kamaairicha is a blend of the ``native species'' and the ``Yabukita'' variety, which has been cultivated for the longest time (over 80 years). This is an everyday pot roasted tea made with strong heat to create a fragrant flavor.
[How to drink] Put 3g (1 teaspoon) of tea leaves for one person into a teapot, steep in hot water at 80℃-90℃ for about 1 minute and 30 seconds to 2 minutes, and then pour it out.
[Message from the Farmer] Producer: Miyazaki Sabo Co., Ltd., Production area: Gokase Town, Miyazaki Prefecture, Cultivation history: Over 80 years ■We at Miyazaki Sabo started tea cultivation by planting tea seeds in the early Showa era more than 80 years ago. Our motto is ``Create tea that will make you feel good after drinking it.'' I always try to make tea that will make the customers who drink it feel energized, healed, delicious, and happy. We hope you enjoy it once. ■Gokase Town, where Miyazaki Sabo is located, is a mountainous area in the northern part of Miyazaki Prefecture, with a panoramic view of Aso, Mt. Nekodake, Mt. Kusumi, and Mt. Sosobo, and the town has very delicious water and air. The tea plantations are spread out in a highland area at an altitude of 600m, and the difference in temperature between morning and evening produces very fragrant tea. Due to the high altitude, there are few pests, so Miyazaki Sabo began cultivating without pesticides or chemical fertilizers in 1981, and obtained organic JAS certification in 2001. ■The tea production method is different from steaming tea, which is made by roasting tea leaves, which is rare in Japan, and produces a fragrant and refreshing taste. It goes well with rice and is a perfect tea for everyday use. In addition, we have adopted the pot roasting method to produce a variety of aromatic organic black teas, oolong teas, and 3-year bancha teas.
I am also trying my hand at making tea. ■There are times when the yield is low due to a huge amount of weeding work and pests, but everyone is working hard to grow tea in order to produce safe and secure tea. These efforts were recognized and we won the Emperor's Cup at the National Agriculture and Forestry Festival in 2002.
