First analog adaptation of 2 songs by Transcendental Groove recorded live on the street by Kubota Makoto of the strongest Koenji/Tokushima Awa Odori in the 2010s

In the summer of 2010, the Tokyo Koenji Awa Odori was recorded by Makoto Kubota and released “Zomeki 1.” It received many responses from not only die-hard Awa Odori fans, but also from world music fans to club music fans, and was a big hit. The “Zomeki” series has released 8 CDs so far.

This work is an extra part of this “Zomeki” series. First analog version as a 12 inch single.

A side is a moss work that has continued to influence the new generation by Awa dance as a male signature for over half a century since it exploded in 1968.

A performance at Koenji during the reign of Koji no Tani. It's gorgeous, but that stoic performance is unrivaled by the king's dignity. The repercussions of the city and the reactions of the enthusiastic customers were also well recorded along with the roar.

Next, the B-side is a rare live sound source where Shinmachibashi Yoiyoyayashi led by Yanagimachi Haruu, who passed away last year, and Mizuki Ren, known for their unique groove, had a joint session. For half a century, this is a nice music that has engulfed customers in a whirlpool of dancing in a square rather than a pier seat, just like a Jamaican dance hall. Meanwhile, the Groove of Bizuki Ren, which boasts the deepest energy, has a sense of dynamism and astonishing accuracy like Earl Palmer, the founder of rock drums. It was recorded in the 2010s by Makoto Kubota on a recorder called ROLAND R4, and a handheld microphone, and SONY ECM 999. Since it's a moving recording with a group marching in, you can enjoy the fun of the balance changing over time.

The retro cover photo is a 2024 work by up-and-coming photographer Hiroyoshi Taira who will hold a photo exhibition “Zomeki” at Shinjuku Olympus Gallery in March this year.
